Himalayan Spa Salts have to be the most beneficial salts on the planet because of the way they were formed. The Himalayan Mountain Range stretches across Asia, passing through China, Nepal, Myanmar, Pakistan, Bhutan, Afghanistan and India. Where these proud peaks now stand, 250 million years ago was a primordial sea. Within that ancient body of water existed a perfect, pristine ecosystem. As the plates of the earth moved and over the ages pushed the Himalayas toward the heavens, the sea evaporated and all of its life-sustaining minerals crystallized under the heat of the sun to form what we now know as Himalayan pink salt.
Himalayan salts are considered the most pure salts in the world. When the scrub begins to dissolve in the water of your bath or shower, it results in a concentrated, electrically charged matrix of 84 trace minerals found in the Himalayan salt. The ionic salt and trace minerals nourish each cell in your body and help to hydrate the skin.
La Baleine sea salt has been produced by Salins-du-Midi in the Aigues-Mortes saltworks, in Camargue, France since 1856. Salt has been produced on this site since before the Roman occupation. It is gathered from the salt-pan at Aigues-Mortes, a protected area covering some 10,800 hectares of untamed land, approximately the same size as inner-city Paris. On this natural site, where wildlife and flora remain untouched, salt has been gathered since Antiquity when the Roman engineer, Peccius, was in charge of production.
This salt breaks down dead skin cells gently, while helping to detox cleanse.
Combine all of these skin loving goodies with the pure joy of a Spa treatment in your own bathroom, and you've got yourself a tubbie time to look forward to!
